Singapore, 28 February 2005 — T.COM working in
collaboration with CET Technologies Pte Ltd (CET), a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Electronics
Limited (ST Electronics) has been awarded a US$5.3 million
(approximately S$8.7 million) contract by the Ministry of
Communication, Science & Technology of Maldives to provide
an information network that will connect Maldives’ government
and related agencies in Malé and 23 other islands.
The network will also provide access to common applications
and services, as well as allow the public to access government
information and services through the Internet, and other
services. Other organizations linked by the network across the
23 islands will include schools, hospitals, justice courts,
police and offices. This initiative is in line with the Maldives
Government’s pursuit of making the government agencies more
efficient and transparent, while delivering public services to
its people using state-of-the-art infocommunication
technologies.

T.COM has been selected to be the supplier for a 3 point
Microwave link for the Myanmar Post and Telecom. |
